Why a Global Poverty Study Group?
A lot of us are irked by global poverty but we don't know what we can do other than donate money to a non-profit or buy premium-priced water or t-shirts that promise to donate money. Or, we have some ideas on what to do, but it's too difficult or unmotivating to go at it alone.
We--the Home of Christ Church--are hosting a global poverty study group because, as a church, we have a heart for our world. And we believe that there are other people in our community who do too. We want to bring people together into a collaborative no-pressure environment to learn about but also to act on the issue of global poverty.
